The department of english grammar
In 1969 at the English Language faculty there was established the department of the English language grammar.
At the department they are finding optimal organization of theoretical grammar course in direction to improve levels of methodological base, intensification of world outlook direction of the content of the course basing on the principle of systematizing via using different methods of problem teaching. In the centre of teachers’ scientific-research activity there are found problems of functional grammar and a text. As a result of further development of the foreign language functional grammar development and intercourse connection of speech practice and grammar in teaching recently the elective course of functional grammar was included into the curriculum.
Due to switching to a new level of professional education national system at our University was worked up a new conception of foreign language education led by an academician S.S. Kunanbayeva where its methodology and theory are theoretically grounded. Because of this conception the teachers’ staff needed new orientation in foreign language education and according to this were put objectives of new generation books preparation.
The teachers of the foreign language grammar department actively began to work out the books for English LSP for third-year students and German LSP for second-year students. The book of English LSP for the third year was published in 2009 with the seal of RK Ministry of Education for the whole republic. The authors of the book are the experienced teachers of the department adjunct professor D.Sh. Tuyakayeva, A.G. Kalibayeva, master B.Ye. Karibayeva.
The qualitative personnel responds to all modern requirements: at the department there is one academician, four doctors of philology, three candidates of philology, two adjunct professors, eight masters, four master students. Scholars of the department read the lectures on theoretical courses for students and master students, guide diploma papers, master dissertations, candidate dissertations, doctorate dissertations; they are members of doctorate dissertation council, take part in international research projects.
